The Congress Party (CLP) meeting, chaired by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is ongoing at the Marrie Chennareddy Human Resource Development Center in Hyderabad. Key topics discussed at the meeting included BC caste enumeration, SC categorization, and the party's strategy for upcoming local body elections. A total of 64 Congress MLAs attended the meeting. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy referred to BC caste enumeration and SC categorization as historic decisions and suggested that party leaders communicate their benefits to the public.
In this context, CM Revanth Reddy decided to organize two major public meetings in Telangana: one for BC caste enumeration in North Telangana and another for SC categorization in the unified Nalgonda district. The national president of the party, Mallikarjun Kharge, and senior leader Rahul Gandhi are expected to be invited to these meetings. Through their success, the Congress government aims to clearly communicate its decisions to the public.
However, despite being invited to the meeting, 10 MLAs who had recently switched parties did not attend. Although the Congress leadership had extended an invitation to them, they chose to remain absent. It is believed that they decided to stay away from the meeting due to ongoing legal proceedings regarding their defection in the Supreme Court, fearing political consequences if they attended.
